PRINTING & DESIGN
In 2021, I was hired at Affordable Prints in Evart MI. This is a small family-owned printing shop. They print on a variety of paper, vinyl, plastic, glass, and more.
While there I have learned how to effectively combine my design knowledge with practical printing skills. I learned how to run several types of printers, including a large vinyl printer, which is my favorite machine to work with.
I have enjoyed my work with Affordable Prints and am happy to add what I have learned from them to my resume.
Logo/Business Card
Up North Bait Co.
I was approached by a client that wanted me to design a logo for his custom bait company. He also wanted me to print business cards and stickers with the design I would create.
The result was this simple logo. Once the logo was approved, I designed a business card that was also pretty simple but I added a photo of water to the background to make it more eye-catching.
This client was very happy with the product and is still a customer today.
Corrugated Plastic
Car Cruise
The client ordered a design for their annual car cruise. Once we designed the ad they wanted it printed on a 48″x48″ corrugated plastic board that they could put on the side of the road.
I really enjoyed this print because the final product turned out very sharp. Sometimes when we do a print this large it can look a little pixelated. However, that was not the case here and it remains one of my favorite prints.
Vinyl Banner
School Banner
My alma mater, Daystar Christian Academy, ordered a 3’x6′ banner that they could hang in the school entry. They wanted a banner that would show school spirit and display their brand.
After I designed the banner I printed it on our large vinyl printer. It turned out very bright and clear. The client was very happy and they continue to come to us for prints.

London Streets #1
This is one of my personal favorite paintings. I was inspired to paint London several years after I got to go see it for myself. Ever since I went to London I have had a love and fascination with that city.
This painting is among the most popular that I display. It is also the only one that I have copied. A client saw it in a gallery showing and commissioned me to copy it for her. Therefore, I painted London Streets #2 in 2019.

Lucy and the lampost
I have always been a fan of C. S. Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia. While attending college I took a class on the writings of C.S. Lewis and meet many other students that were fascinated with his work.
I painted Lucy and the Lampost, as a graduation gift, for one of those friends, who graduated in the class of 2017. I believe it shows the wonder that Lucy felt when entering Narnia but also shows the darkness and danger that was ever-present in this world at the time.

Among the Stars
I painted this during my freshman year of college. I grew up in the Michigan countryside and on a clear night, my father and I would go out and see the very bright Milky Way. Stargazing with him is one of my fondest childhood memories. However, when I moved to Cincinnati, to attend college, there were no stars to be found. So I painted Among the Stars as a way to cope with my homesickness. It has been a favorite addition to my portfolio ever since.
